Hiperplasia or atrophy of the endometrium is usually the background of endometrial carcinoma, prognostical value is given by the development of hystological subtypes together with the tumor staging. The aim of our study is to examine the biomarkers implicated in the carcinogenesis, that promotes tumor growth on the celular level, dissemination, capacity to metastasize in hope of the possibility of apply an individualized therapy. The expression levels of COX-2, MMP-9, VWF were evaluated in 23 endometrioid type endometrial carcinoma samples with different hystological differentiation grade, 7 mucinous, 7 serous adenocarcinoma. We used DAB (diamino-benzidine) chromogen for viewing reaction. Two pathologists examined the results, which were evaluated quantitatively, qualitatively in function of the reaction's localisation. The results demonstrated a direct correlation between COX-2 protein with the differentiation grade of endometrioid carcinoma. It expresses intense and diffuse in mucinous adenocarcinoma, expression is focal and strong in the serous type. Expression of MMP-9 is almost similar in the three type of adenocarcinoma, VWF demonstrates intens angiogenesis by endothelial and stromal cells marking in serous and mucinous type of carcinoma, towards of endometrioid type endometrial carcinoma. Co-expression of COX-2 and MMP-9 contributes to an invasiveness increase, VWF is a factor of angiogenesis mechanism. In this regard, the increase of the effectiveness of chemotherapy and antiangiogenesis therapy is a contribution of COX-2 inhibitors would help in individualized therapy.
