The author processed nineteen different documents related to the pharmacist education at the Frantz Joseph University from Cluj (Romania) in its first period, between 1872-1919. The topic is rarely covered in scientific papers. These documents are proving the phases which must have been passed through by the candidates until obtaining the artis pharmaciae magister degree, from trainee to PhD in pharmacology. Apart from the short presentation of the documents, we are able to see moments from the life and career of the owners, also reflecting the history of the first half of the XXth century.
