Physicians’ and Chemists’ Graves form the First Two Decades of the 20th Century in Cluj/Kolozsvár Central Cemetery

Written by Gaal György

This study presents the graves of ten physicians, two chemist professors and four pharmacists from the Central Cemetery (also called ”Házsongárd”) from Cluj/Kolozsvár. Some of them were famous professors of the University, just from the founders’ generation. Two of them were members of the Hungarian Academy of Science. Two others were health officers of the town. The pharmacists owned drug-stores in the centre of the town; one of them was head of the University Drug-store. It’s a pity that five from the sixteen gravestones were already destroyed in the last decades.
