The treatment of chondral and osteochondral lesions of the weight-bearing articular cartilage is a real challenge for the orthopaedic surgeon. Mosaicplasty seems to be an excellent way in the treatment of focal osteochondral defects. This method can remake the articular congruence with a hyalin-like cartilage repair. In this paper the authors present their results in autologous osteocondral integration in an experimental model on animals.
