Aim of study: Congenital heart disease (CHD) has an incidence of 8/1000 live births. In Romania, there is no National Register of CHD. The research project “MAMI”, in Program 4 of The National Center of Programs Management, had the initiative for starting a Register, including the counties from the Euroregional Center. Material and method: the children diagnosed with CHD have been included into the Register from the following counties: Alba, Braşov, Covasna, Harghita, Mureş, Sibiu. Statistics are kept by using the SPSS software. Results: the number of patients in the Register is 2439: 2,1% - Alba, 10,8% - Braşov, 6,8% – Covasna, 17,3% – Harghita, 57% – Mureş, 5,9% – Sibiu. The most frequently encountered CHD: atrial septal defect (34,77%), ventricular septal defect (15,72%), patent ductus arteriosus (7,62%). Conclusion: the incidence of congenital heart disease în Mureş county is 9/1000 live births.
