Dr. Péterffy Pál-life and work

He was born on the 10 May 1904 at Vingard, his parents were Péterffy Kálmán (1861-1923) and Benkő Vilma (1871-1943). He started high school at the Bethlen College at Aiud, and graduated at the Majláth College at Alba Iulia in 1922. He started medical school at Pázmány Péter University at Budapest in 1922, and continued at Cluj in 1924 at I. Ferdinand University. He received his final degree in 1930. In our study we present Dr. Péterffy Pál’s studies, the main steps in his becoming surgeon, his role as a university lecturer, his scientific achievements, and his moral courage in chaotic historical circumstances. We also present his contribution to the work of Transyilvanian Museum Society, and his intellectual heritage.
