In our study the Romanian demographic state, perspectives and some health indicators are presented. Nowadays we can conclude that regional and ethnic differences determine in large measure the demographic perspectives of the regions. Near the study of natality, fertility and mortality, the follow-up of assimilation and migration is necessary. Based on the demographic forecast we can state the general decrease of the population and the inequalities of demographic perspectives among different regions. In the future the well-known demographic trends will continue: the change of population structures, the decrease of schooling indicators. The study of family conditions concluded that the number of children per woman is very low, but it is a positive trend that women are willing to have more children if they get social support. This could lead to the improvement of demographic perspectives.
