In this study I explored the old autopsy registers, kept at the Institute of Anatomy and Pathology from Cluj. There were analyzed 3354 entries, focusing on the morphopathological diagnosis and the most frequent causes of mortality in that time. An image of the morbidity and mortality rates was outlined by comparing the morphopathological diagnosis and the contemporary statistical data from the Carolina Public Hospital from Cluj, which provided the majority of cases.
