István Környey's life and work (1901-1988), regarding particularly the Transylvanian period

István Környey, university professor, academician, neuropathologist, neuropsychiatrist, was the founder of the neurosurgical school in Hungary. He studied in Budapest, then he worked and trained in Vienna, Magdeburg, Hamburg, Chicago and Ann Arbor. Between 1941-1947 as a world-famous professor he worked at the Ferenc József University in Kolozsvár (Cluj), then at the Faculty of Medicine in Marosvásárhely (Tg.Mures). He was the member of several academies and scientific societies.
