In the combinated contraceptives the oestrogenic component favorise the lipidic metabolism but it depends on the added progesteron if this effect remains. The aim of this research is to compare the following combinations: ethiniloestradiol+desogestrel (Marvelon), with ethiniloestradiol+levo-norgestrel (Rigevidon), and to follow the effect of these combinations on the lipidic metabolism. Material and method: we induced hipercholesterolemia at 15 female mice feeding them with 5% fat. We separated them in three groups. The first group got Marvelon, the second got Rigevidon for 21 days. The third was the controll group. After the drug therapy we determinated from the plasma the total HDL- and LDL-cholesterol. Results: the lipoproteic profile was different at the two groups. In the group which was given Marvelon the total and LDL cholesterol decreased significantly, but the HDL increased. In the other group which was given Rigevidon it was vice versa, but this was’t significant. Conclusions: The Marvelon has a positiv effect and this has to be an important point of wiev in choosing oral contraceptives.
