Psychiatrist István Zsakó’s years in Transylvania

The well known mental specialist stemmed from the old Transylvanian Zsakó family spent half time of his life in Transylvania. Between 1910-1926 he was the head physician of the mental ward of the county hospital at Dicsőszentmárton (today: Târnăveni). His name has became famous because of the family care and employment of the mental patients and as medical historian. At the age of 44 he was appointed chief physician (1927) and later director of the mental hospital of Angyalföld, Budapest.
